GMP+ International certification continues to grow and has recently welcomed its 16,000th GMP+ FSA certified company.

The certificate number 16,000 has been granted to Baldo S.A. Comércio, Indústria e Exportação, a Brazilian company established since 1920 in the south of the country, state of Rio Grande do Sul. Baldo is a producer of two products: soya products and mate, a traditional South American caffeine-rich infused drink. Mate is mainly exported to Uruguay, a big consumer of the popular drink, and where Baldo has 60% of the market share.

Soya meal is processed in the plant of Encantado that has a production capacity of 600 tons/day. The main feed products are toasted soya meal, lecithin and degomated degummed oil. Baldo also dedicates part of its production to the processing of non GMO soya.

“As a quality driven company, Baldo decided to certify the Encantado plant looking to the expansion of its international market share, what could be accomplished by having a GMP+ certification”, both Valdir Pederiva, Commercial Manager, and Ricardo A. de Moraes, Engineering, state.

“As the Board of directors acknowledge, the certification opened new business opportunities and helped to organize the internal operations. It required dedication to create and implement the necessary documentation and also some changes in infrastructure, what is usual for the companies of the size of Baldo.”

Control Union Brazil provided Baldo with the certification services, and together with GMP+ International they delivered the certification of recognition and a festive chocolate package to Baldo.
