New checklist for short sea shipping and inland waterway transport

A new checklist GMP+ B4.3 Short sea with additional requirements will be implemented on April 16, 2018. In accordance with article 11.1 of the GMP+ A1 General Regulation, the new checklist GMP+ B4.3 Short sea shipping and inland waterway transport and additional requirements will be implemented on April 16, 2018 by means of executive decree.

This executive decree will be valid until publication of the new C-documents on the website of GMP+ International.

 

Checklist GMP+ B4.3 Short sea shipping and inland waterway transport

As of April 16, 2018, Certification Bodies shall use the new Checklist GMP+ B4.3 Short sea shipping and inland waterway transport with additional requirements. 

The checklist contains descriptions of ‘Not Conform’. These are the so-called ‘knock out’ criteria. When an inspector observes such a ‘Not Conform’, a GMP+ certificate cannot be issued.

The following new assessment requirements are applicable:

  • Before the inspection, the loading compartment must be empty for assessment.
  • Assessment must be performed in accordance with the checklist.
  • When an inspector established a ‘Not Conform’ with a description, no GMP+ certificate can be issued to the company.
  • Only when such ‘Not Conform’ is resolved, a GMP+ certificate can be issued to the company.
    • When an inspector observe another ‘Not Conform’ without description, a GMP+ certificate can be issued to the company.
    • As of April 16, 2018, the new checklist will be offered to the certification bodies by means of the new GMP+ database. The certification bodies shall upload the checklist into the new GMP+ database. Separate reporting is not necessary.

     

    The current checklist will no longer be used after April 16, 2018
