Companies in the feed chain are increasingly confronted with customer demands for non-GMO feed. Your GMP+ FSA certificate proves to your customers that you produce, transport, trade or store your feed in a safe way. However, it does not control genetically modified feed materials (GMO).
Because of the increased importance of non-GMO feed production, GMP+ International has teamed up with VLOG (Verband Lebensmittel Ohne Gentechnik), owner of a non-GMO scheme in the feed & food chain, to facilitate GMP+ FSA certified feed companies to comply with this market demand. Together with VLOG and an international GMP+ working group, we worked hard to develop the all-new GMP+MI 105 GMO Controlled standard. GMP+ International and VLOG have a strong partnership to ensure GMO-controlled feed and food.
This new standard has been published today on the GMP+ online portal, as part of the GMP+ Feed Responsibility Assurance (FRA) module of the GMP+ Feed Certification scheme. It covers the whole feed supply chain: production, trade, storage & transshipment and transport, for GMO controlled feed.
