Stronger Commitment towards Feed Safety

On 12 September 2018, during SPACE event in Rennes, GMP+ International Managing Director, Johan Den Hartog and Qualimat President, Dominique Bricard signed a mutual recognition agreement to renew their long-term partnership for almost 10 years. The goal of the renewed commitment is to continue to work together to improve and maintain safety in the road transport industry related to the feed chain. One of the main points of focus is the development of an integrity program that will bring more transparency and the improvement of service to the transport sector in the feed chain.

Complimentary Service

GMP+ International manages the GMP+ Feed Safety Assurance module (GMP+ FSA), which is part of the GMP+ Feed Certification scheme (GMP+ FSA scheme). It also covers road transport of feed. QUALIMAT manages a certification system for road transport, called QUALIMAT transport version 6. Version 6 of the specifications came into force on January 1, 2016. This version is related to the extension of the scope of QUALIMAT Transport to the road transport of compound feed besides feed materials. 

Important :

• Qualimat Transport and GMP + FSA certification of road transport are equivalent. An operator certified for one of the two systems meets the requirements of both systems.
• Nevertheless, there are still differences in the classification of goods and level of cleaning required (see IDTF database : icrt-idtf.com). The strictest level of cleaning must be applied by the transport operators working within the framework of this mutual recognition.
• These provisions are verified during audits by the Certification Bodies.
