Design standard ISO 22095 'Chain of Custody - General terminology and models' ready

The GMP+ FRA standard B100 uses four supply chain models that describe how responsible feed is dealt with within the supply chain: segregation, mass balance, area mass balance and book & claim. These supply chain models describe the flow and what every individual link must check to delivery responsible feed.

Trade models are used by multiple certification schemes, mainly with regard to specifying sustainability properties. Unfortunately, terminologies are not applied in a harmonized fashion. This means, for instance, that mass balance can be applied differently for every scheme.

GMP+ International is participant of the ISO normalization process ‘Chain of Custody’ at NEN. The new standard ISO 22095 'Chain of Custody- General terminology and models' offers unambiguous definitions and requirements for different trade models.

It is a multi-sectoral, globally applicable standard to which already existing CoC systems can refer or on which new systems can base their terminology for sector specific requirements and models.

Currently, the Design standard ISO 22095 'Chain of Custody - General terminology and models' is published for public consultation in the NENshop. GMP+ participants, as well as other interested parties can provide substantive comments with regard to this draft standard.
