Tuesday, December 17, 2019
Recently, the International Expert Committee (IEC) decided to approve several changes in GMP+ BA1 <i>Specific Feed Safety Limits</i>.
The changes are available in the updated GMP+ BA1 and it concerns:
- Changes due to feed legislation: As a result of the publication of Regulation (EU) No 2019/1869 amending and correcting Annex 1 to Directive 2002/32/EC (regarding undesirable substances the limits for arsenic, fluorine, lead, mercury, free gossypol, dioxins, sum of dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs and non-dioxin like PCBs in certain animal feed have changed
- The name of the undesirable substance “Hydrocarbons (C10-C40) – code C24” is replaced by “Mineral oil hydrocarbons (C10-C40)”.
Consequence for the GMP+ Monitoring database. From now on the name of the undesirable substance for code C24 is “Mineral oil hydrocarbons (C10-C40).
- Nickel (C30): The name of the group of feeds for which the limit applies has been amended in order to be clearer “Feed fats” is replaced by “Oils and fats from vegetable or animal origins”.
- Chapter 4 “Residue levels of pesticides in feeds”: The questionnaires for determining / calculating the correct MRL are updated. New information about the “Octanol/water partition coefficient” is processed in this chapter 4 in addition to some small changes (old links are updated).
