Changes in GMP+ BA1 “Specific Feed Safety Limits”

With the publication of Regulation (EU)2020/762 the limit for Enterobacteriaceae in raw petfood has been changed. The limit is less strict. This regulation introduces the term ‘process hygiene criterion’ that from now on will be applicable for Enterobacteriaceae in raw petfood. This is implemented in the GMP+ BA1 by:

• moving the limit to the column “action limit”.
• including the term "process hygiene criterion" in the supplementary requirements of the action limit.
• including a reference to the Regulation for more information regarding the new process hygiene criterion.

also, the threshold value (m) for the number of bacteria is amended.
