GMP+ audit during the Covid-19 pandemic

Thursday, April 29, 2021

Since March 2020 the world has been confronted with the Covid-19 pandemic, this also has had an impact for the GMP+ Community. In order to support Certification Bodies and GMP+ certified companies to continue with GMP+ activities, we have published several executive decrees for Certification Bodies in 2020. With these executive decrees we offer opportunities to ensure that GMP+ audits can be successfully carried out.

We would like to inform the GMP+ Community about the audit possibilities during Covid-19. If you encounter a situation which is not described please feel free to contact our GMP+ Helpdesk

How to continue GMP+ audit in Covid-19 pandemic?

GMP+ International has communicated with all GPM+ coordinators of Certification Bodies about possible ways of auditing. Please always contact your Certification Body and discuss the possibilities.

Who is responsible to decide the way of auditing?

The Certification Body is responsible for the way in which  GMP+ audits will be performed.

Can a GMP+ certified company perform a remote internal audit or supplier assessment?

Yes, it is the responsibility of the GMP+ certified companies to decide in which way to comply with GMP+ requirements, for example an internal audit and supplier assessment. If your company believes, based on your risk assessment, the remote audit is sufficient and feed safety is not endangered, please well document your motivation(s) and evidence (if applicable) for the coming GMP+ audit.
