Preparations for the Global Feed Safety Summit (6-8 April 2022, Berlin) are well underway. We have fascinating international speakers, a charismatic host and a fantastic location in the heart of Berlin. But the Summit would not be complete without producers, traders, trainers, consultants and experts, because together we will be setting the agenda for the coming years.

After a year and a half of lockdowns and social distancing, countries around the world are starting to cautiously relax their measures against the coronavirus. This leaves more scope to meet each other in the flesh again. For example, I will be one of over 1,400 visitors expected at the European Commodities Exchange in Copenhagen in early October. After a long period of online meetings, it's nice to be able to look each other in the eye again.

Global Feed Safety Summit

The rising level of vaccinations and step-by-step easing of restrictions mean we can look forward to the Global Feed Safety Summit that GMP+ International and Misset are organising from 6 to 8 April 2022 in Berlin. Tickets went on sale last month. Although the list of speakers will be added to further, those who have already confirmed, including John Kirkpatrick (TESCO), Leo den Hartog (Nutreco) and Angela Booth (FEFAC), assure us of lively debates and stimulating insights.

The feed sector faces a wide range of challenges: from sustainability and digitisation to changing trade flows and pressure on prices. At the Summit, we don't just want to share knowledge, above all we also want to hear how insiders from the sector see these developments. The Summit’s design is expressly focused on sitting down together to set an agenda for the coming years which we will then work together as a sector to put into practice.

The gathering in Amsterdam in 2017 showed that our international community has the knowledge and motivation to initiate change. For example, one result of that event was the founding of the GMP+ Academy. GMP+ International will again be able to perform this connecting, facilitating role after the Summit in Berlin.

Over the coming years and decades, a lot is going to change in the feed sector – developments that will affect every company and organisation. So it is very important that businesses, quality managers and other stakeholders in feed safety are armed with the knowledge to be successful in this transition. At the same time, it is we who will determine the shape we are in as a sector as we face the future. The Global Feed Safety Summit provides an international setting for exploring these issues, so come to Berlin and get involved in the conversation about the future of Feed Safety Worldwide.

It promises to be an inspiring three days, with fascinating speakers, sharp debates, good food and more than enough networking opportunities. See you in Berlin!

The Global Feed Safety Summit (6-8 April 2022) will be held in the Berlin Congress Center (BCC). It will be presented by RTL presenter and moderator Donatello Piras. Tickets are now available. On the website you will also find information about the schedule, the topics, the speakers and suggestions for hotels.
